Yesterday we had the first class of the other course I'm teaching this term: Environment and Development (ERST-IDST-POST-SAFS 3602H). This was the first course I ever taught at Trent, but I'm only now returning to it this year after six years away, while I was chairing my department.
It's great to be back in this course. We'll be digging into a variety of international environmental issues, focusing on the experiences of people in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. I plan to work through a number of case studies, applying a variety of conceptual schemes that I've found useful in the past, such as political ecology.
